The Alliance for Wildlife & Conservation will send 12 youth and 4 chaperones to attend a waterhole project in the remote Arizona mountains to gain a greater appreciation for conservation and natural resources. The camp affords the selected youth a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in a natural setting.
To select the 12 youth, we will conduct an essay contest on the theme, "who benefits from wildlife conservation and why." AWC encourages youth between the ages of 14-18 years to enter our essay contest to be eligible for an all-expense paid educational trip to help build a waterhole.
The lucky winners of the essay contest are provided with air transportation from the Minneapolis Airport to the nearest airport in Arizona, group transportation to camp, return flight, equipment, supplies, meals, and tents are provided.
February 20-23rd, 2025
AWC has teamed up with the Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep Society (ADBSS) and AZ Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) to bring you this hands-on educational adventure.
Our camp is set up in the remote deserts of Arizona and we participate in waterhole catchment redevelopment projects. Learn about the importance of water sources in these arid landscapes, and get your hands dirty as you help build and maintain vital water catchments for wildlife.
